United Irrigation District Modernization

The following is a complete list of all projects included in the United Irrigation District (UID) under this program. There are three modernization projects.

Lateral A1e Pipeline

This project will replace an open ditch with a closed pipeline to eliminate severance and seepage on three parcels. The Lateral A1e project will affect 124.3 assessed irrigation acres on those parcels. There are about 27 acres that encounter small seepage issues on parcels that will be remedied with the pipeline. A part of this lateral is also on the top of a hill that could encounter future problems. A closed pipeline will minimize these potential problems and ensure a secure supply of irrigation water. The closed pipeline will eliminate return flow.

Schedule

This project will be constructed in the summer and fall of 2021.

Cost Estimate

Initial estimate: $207,000.

Lateral D1 Pipeline

AllUID

The purpose of this project is to replace an open ditch with a closed pipeline to eliminate severance and seepage on 10 acres. The pipeline supplies water for the irrigation of approximately 417 acres on five parcels of land with a potential of 119.97 additional acres. The close pipeline will eliminate return flow.

Schedule

This project will be constructed in the summer and fall of 2021, along with the first project listed above. All easements are registered.

Cost Estimate

Initial estimate: $310,000.

Lateral B Pipeline

This modernization project is an open ditch to be replaced with an open pipeline. There are about 10 acres that encounter small seepage issues on three parcels that will be remedied with the pipeline. The channel is in poor condition, with banks severely damaged by rodents. The channel will be replaced with a pipeline to eliminate these problems. Engineering is underway.

Schedule

This project will be constructed in the year 2023.

Cost Estimate

Initial estimate: $490,000.
