Water Wise: Honouring the Red Deer River Watershed (Alberta)

May 2 - May 3

Free

We all have a role to play in protecting Alberta’s watersheds-whether it is a riparian area, lake, stream or river.  This will be an opportunity for groups to share all the great work they do toward creating sustainable practices to foster responsible watershed stewardship.  Collaborating and creating successful partnerships is an added bonus of attending the event.

Thursday, May 2- Student Day

Students from River Valley School grades K-8 will participate in creative lessons at each group’s learning table at the Sundre Community Center from 9:30 until 2:30.  Two grades will visit per hour (5 or 6 classes at a time). Each class will stay together throughout the hour to enable them to connect with each group and allow groups to offer their lesson once per grade.

Friday, May 3- Public Day

Groups will be able to engage with the general public from 10:30 until 2:00.  A special guest will be speaking from 9:00-10:00.

*Education groups should register on or before March 22 , 2024 to Karen at kfahr@telus.net

*Please indicate what grade level your lesson would be appropriate for.
