The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance invites you to join us for our upcoming Spring Forum "Ice, Ice, Maybe?: winter sport in an era of climate change" on March 22nd, 2019, which is also World Water Day!
This February has been one of the coldest on record in Alberta in recent years, with more days hovering in the -30°C range in 2019 than in the last 40 years! While the idea of warmer winters sounds appealing to many people (hurray for less shovelling!), milder temperatures in winter could also potentially impact many of the winter activities we love that rely on cold and snowy conditions, including skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and outdoor ice hockey.
Thanks to our sponsors, we are pleased to offer Ice, Ice Maybe as a FREE event, with snacks and refreshments provided! Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
Space is limited to 50 people, and registration is required prior to March 20th. REGISTER HERE!
We hope you will join us for Ice, Ice Maybe? as we take a closer look at the future of winter recreation in Alberta!
