A proposal by Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi to hike water and sewer rates could have a dramatic effect on Airdrie utility bills.The mayor to the south is looking at ways to get the $1.3 billion debt on the city's water and sewer system down to a manageable level. And when Calgary city council looks at the various options next month, there doesn't seem to be much doubt that the users will have to pay. Since Airdrie gets its water piped in from Calgary, Airdronians' rates will go up right along with the residents to the south.....click here to read more.
